Weekly Walk-Through - Crude & Russell e-Mini
The Crude Oil Futures and Russell e-Mini futures put in very steady performances
this past week. They are both solid example walk-throughs since each
market had very strong days, and days where more effort had to be made to
achieve our profit objectives. Not every trading day was perfect -- so
each shows a very realistic outlook of what you should expect day-to-day and by
the week. We stuck to taking the highest odds set-ups so if you in
particular need more review on that, both videos will show you the best day
trades set-ups we have with the method as we've been outlining for you.
The Crude Oil Futures trades ended up the week (1/5/09 - 1/9/09) with
17 wins - 8 losses at +$2.70 ($2,700 before costs with one contract)
which is a 68% win rate -- above our target objective (which is always
60% or greater) so a very solid week. One day was quite easy (Monday), one
day was a battle (Tuesday) but in the end the outcome was good. IF you
stick with the plan and show the patience a successful trader needs. One
time we lost three trades, but immediately thereafter? 4 straight winners
-- the best trades tend to follow the struggle and it's up to you to stick with
the plan. Just remind yourself of the eventual outcome - it's worth the
added discipline:
http://www.netpicksllc.com/UMTDailyVideos/010909CL.htm Russell e-Mini Futures trading ended up the week with 9 wins - 4
losses (using a 233 tick timeframe -- you may look at some quicker timeframes as
this one can take a good part of the morning session to complete) and +14.50 =
$1,450/contract. This included two days which were basically
break-even, and a 69% win/loss percentage which was excellent. So, even
with two days that were no better than even you still end up with a nice
gain. Again, it's about proper expectations -- we cannot win big every
session -- some days will be a scratch, some days a loss but we should stay very
consistent given our 60%+ win/loss ratio (and in this case almost 70%) and every
trade having a higher profit objective than risk. Those numbers will favor
you over time - always. Here's your walkthrough:
